SCL LAWYER

Ashoorina (Ash) Anoya is a passionate, dedicated and empathetic criminal defence lawyer with meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to ensuring her clients achieve optimal outcomes, whatever their criminal or traffic law cases may be.

Ash commenced her criminal law career as a legal secretary within our team before being promoted to the position of law clerk, assisting our senior defence lawyers in the formulation and execution of effective defence strategies with a focus on serious and complex criminal cases.

As a defence lawyer, Ash has proven herself to be an exceptional strategist with an uncanny ability to dissect and identify issues with prosecution evidence and tenaciously work to obtain successful results – whether this means having serious charges withdrawn or downgraded at an early stage, or dismissed inside the courtroom.

Ash often instructs pre-eminent barrister in complex criminal trials in the District Court, with her dedication and thorough preparation consistently contributing to not guilty verdicts being obtained in circumstances that appear formidable.

Ash also consistently represents clients in less-serious cases including Local Court sentencing matters (guilty pleas), bail applications, section 14 mental health applications and annulment applications – again consistently achieving positive outcomes for her clients.

She is a personable lawyer who cares greatly for her valued clients, placing their interests front and foremost and showing them care and compassion.

It is with empathy, commitment, a keen intellect and vast experience within Sydney’s best criminal defence team that Ash has proven herself to be invaluable to both her clients and to our firm.
