Xing Hu

Xing Hu is an experienced criminal defence lawyer who is passionate about achieving optimal outcomes for clients in a range criminal and traffic law cases.

Xing graduated his law degree with the rare distinction of First Class Honours and was placed on the Dean’s Merit List in recognition of his academic achievements.

He completed his internship within the cross-border dispute resolution team at a top-tier multi-national law firm, where he provided legal assistance on extremely complex legal cases.

It was there that Xing cemented his passion for criminal defence, obtaining employment at a long-established specialist criminal defence law firm in the suburbs of Sydney and being promoted to the position of senior criminal lawyer.

Xing’s meticulous case preparation, exceptional ability to formulate and implement effective defence strategies and persuasive courtroom advocacy led him to Sydney’s best criminal defence team.

Xing regularly appears in courts throughout New South Wales, providing outstanding legal representation in cases from AVOs, common assaults, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, drug possession, drink and drug driving, driving whilst disqualified and driver licence appeals, to serious fraud, money laundering, proceeds of crime, grievous bodily harm-related charges, commercial drug supply, manufacture and importation, sexual offences including sexual acts, sexual touching and sexual assault, and homicide-related cases, including intent to murder, manslaughter and murder.

He leaves no stone unturned when it comes to case preparation – carefully dissecting prosecution material, identifying inconsistencies, legal, procedural and substantive issues and other weaknesses, and building defence cases that lead to positive outcomes.

Xing is passionate about fighting for the withdrawal or downgrading of charges in a timely manner, and his empathic nature endears him to his valued clients, who he ensures are kept informed throughout the legal process.

Inside the courtroom, Xing is consistently able to defeat prosecution attempts to adversely affect his clients, including during bail applications, section 14 mental health applications, sentencing proceedings, defended hearings and jury trials.
