Criminal Law Jobs in Sydney

Last updated on

Sydney Criminal Lawyers® is a multi-award winning law firm with a growing number of staff and locations.

We are seeking brilliant criminal defence lawyers and first class administrative staff who are able to deliver exceptional service and outcomes to our valued clients.

Our workplace is challenging and many of the cases we accept are extremely serious, difficult and complex. There is a high volume of work and the pressure can be intense.

The standards we set for ourselves are high – we are not your average, ‘run of the mill’ law firm that places profits ahead of results – in fact, we recognise that monetary goals can adversely affect client service and outcomes, and unlike many other firms we do not impose ‘budgets’ that our lawyers are required to meet.

We do, however, demand the highest quality legal service for each and every client.

We work as a team and strive to achieve outstanding results, and our exceptionally high standards are reflected in our unparalleled record of client reviews (including Google reviews and testimonials on our site), our case results and our awards – including recognition as the ‘Criminal Defence Firm of the Year in Australia’ by a number of prestigious awards programs for several years running.

We are currently accepting applications for:

Senior Criminal Defence Lawyer

The formal requirements for the position are:

  • At least 3 years of post admission experience in criminal defence,
  • Current practising certificate, and
  • Current driver licence.

The successful candidate will have strong work ethic and a proven track record of undertaking exceptional work in serious and complex criminal cases.

She or he will have in-depth knowledge of criminal law, practice and procedure as well as substantial experience in formulating and implementing strategies that lead to charges being withdrawn or dismissed, by undertaking independent defence work and harnessing investigators and various experts.

He or she will be experienced in conducting independent advocacy, from local court bail applications, pleas and hearings to district court sentencing matters, severity and conviction appeals, and supreme court bail applications.

Remuneration is commensurate with relevant experience and proven ability.

If you are up for the challenge, we invite you to send your covering letter and resume to our principal Ugur Nedim at un@sydneycriminallawyers.com.au
