Broadmeadow is a town within Newcastle, established in the 1880’s.

Broadmeadow Children’s Court is one of six designated children’s courts in New South Wales. It is the first children’s court that is solely intended to house the personnel associated with administering children’s law. The courthouse itself was specifically designed to make hearings safe and accessible for everyone. The court also uses a wide variety of Technology in its proceedings to make them more efficient and safe, including Video-conferencing, Audio facilities and Electronic evidence playback. The court deals with; criminal cases, traffic cases, applications for Apprehended Violence Orders and Compulsory Schooling Orders, cases involving care and protection of young people, as well as breaches in parole.

Broadmeadow is approximately 2 hrs from Sydney, and is accessible by Train or Bus.
