It has been reported that a contractor who last worked in Parramatta Local Court on 12 August 2020 has tested positive for coronavirus.

The Department of Communities and Justice New South Wales (DCJ) has called on anyone who attended the courthouse between 8.30am and 12.30pm on Tuesday, 11 August 2020 or anytime on Wednesday, 12 August 2020 to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19.

It has assured court users and members of the public that extra cleaning was undertaken at the courthouse on Sunday, 16 August 2020 – the day after the information came to light.

“DCJ will continue to work closely with NSW Health and carry out all necessary measures to protect the safety of staff, court users and the community”, a DCJ spokesperson said in a statement.
